Who should do chores?

Today's topic talks about car washing. A car company's survey shows that fewer people in Britain tend to wash their own cars by themselves. This implies that they opt to put their cars through automated washing machine or ask other people who are willing to wash cars at cheaper price. Unlike before, kids can earn money by washing cars.

One importance of washing cars is that it maintain cars good state. Not washing and waxing cause car's coating out.

Discussion themes mentioned that machines make people so lazy that they are never engaged in chores unlike before.

value of software development and statistics

My speciality is software development and statistics, machine learning.
But I wonder these days that I have no value on earth.

For example, Word2Vec, one of semantic analysis tool which is Neural Network, is very common on the WWW. Word2Vec library which is made in C language or python, both are programming languages, are available to everyone.

Now, I cann't find my value, because the methodology is already accessable and also it is difficult to make scientifically significant invention in research. What I can do is just to apply statisitical methods to various types of data sets, though it seems to be monotonous and dull work.

My older friend answered to me about this point, "critical suggestion is very useful and it will be the advantage of you and some of data scientists. Most of companies just give client companies the analysis results which are never understood by them. So you must tell them how they should understand the result and what they should do next considering the result." This was good news to me.:) I'll do my best.

Cafe fights loneliness with stuffed toys link Teddy's bare

What I learned is:
- think prural or singular form of verbs
- start to watch English

Some people laugh at restaurants in Japan which reserve stuffed toys for alone customers.
Japanese people have a fetish about things such as stuffed toys.
Target users of the restaurants are young women I guess.
They must get relieved by the stuffed toys, though they come alone there.

If you ask somebody to help you...

Here is the today's news article.
French Company Proposes a Touch-skin Gadget | 英会話ニュース教材 Daily News Article.

The article seems to be chosen because Apple presented a smart watch project just 22 hours ago.
The main point of this topic is when and how companies should be helped by people outside of the company.

I experienced the case in which a young men group has asked us to help them with some effort to make an application which runs on smartphone, Android devices, though they don't have minute and concrete enough plan.

I am now angry much because they could think further to brash up the idea which they think is valuable.

What I just did is to waste my time.
I MUST refuse blur proposals since right now, though my collegues take damages.

expression and words new to me

The first article I read is the dailynewsarticle given by Rarejob as the text: “Jewels of Persia” Tour to Boost Iran’s Tourism | 英会話ニュース教材 Daily News Article
The expression I could not caught is this:
Its westbound route works the other way around.
The eastbound route of the 'Jewels of Persia' trips start at Budapest, Hungary and end in  Tehran, Iran. And its westbound route goes the other way around, which means the westbound trip starts at Tehran, Iran and ends in Budapest, Hungary.

In discussion with a tutor, the proposition: this kind of trips is worth is discussed. I'd rather take this trip if I have enough time and money, because scenery seen from trip trains must be beautiful and great.

Then, here's another news article I read this morning: BBC News - Tesla losses mount as China sales disappoint.
In the article, Iron Musk claimed Tesla still is convinced of potential of the Chinese market, though they lose money through fourth-quarter period.

Nonetheless, in a statement accompanying earnings Mr Musk said "we remain convinced of the vast potential of this market".
Tesla shares plunged 3% in after hours trading.
Mr. Musk explain the cause of the fourth-quarter loss is production delay, which led to fewer shipment of cars.

convince: to cause (sbd) to believe firmly in the truth of sth
nonetheless: in spite of that
plunge: to fall suddenly and uncontrollably
